Thing To Do In Fort Lauderdale and Surrounding Areas

Not only as a tourist but also as a Florida resident we always have a few fun thing to do in Fort Lauderdale and our surrounding cities. I don’t know how many times I have been ask by my family and friends about what things we do as a Fort Lauderdale residents. Not only friends and family visiting from Oversee also many of my clients wanted our Insider Tips. Therefore I thought to just write it up and share it with all of you who want to know what we “locals” do for a fun thing to do in Fort Lauderdale.

But for now, let me start with a few of our all year around recommendation.

Water Taxi

The Water Taxi is my first pick. I take it anytime I can.  It is always fun and I learn a lot about the city, residents, culture and new hot spots. A great option when you use it a lot is their offered annual pass at $225. With that, you get unlimited access to the Water Taxi all year around. They also offer an All Day Pass I would highly recommend. With the Day Pass, they let you “hop off and on” all day long. Each captain always has great stories to tell when you ride along our Fort Lauderdale waterways. Oh, and they have many other tours, such as Pokemon tours, District Heritage tours, Night tours …Make sure you check out the many special offers.  Don’t forget to check out their Groupon Deals once in a while.

RiverWalk

The Riverwalk is along the New River in Fort Lauderdale. Slowly coming back to live as the center has been bought by a german company. We hope the Germans bring it back to the old days as of early 2000. When shops were busy, Restaurant offered their specials and always fun activities in the “Marketplace” were happening. Stroll along the river and you will discover the Broward Center for Performing Arts (that’s where my daughter’s high school graduation to place)  , the Stranahan House,  the Science Musem  and in the surrounding park events. The outdoor park areas are offering all year around events. Starting from Chili Cookout, Sundays Jazz Brunch, the start of for the Winterfest parade…and so much more.

Lauderdale by the Sea

Lauderdale by the Sea is one if not my most favorite little city in the Fort Lauderdale area.  It is charming with flair. Still, the community has kept their old town charm in today’s new age. Maybe it is also while it is the city where my family and I started our new way of life. Here I just love it. I love the beach, the pier, the little shops, the Christmas market, the weekend music…I am always somewhere around there. So if you see me please see hello!

Since there are many more happenings I have decided to do a Fort Lauderdale Insider blog where I try to post at list once a month. I will post about happening I know around Fort Lauderdale. Hopefully, it will help you to learn one or more about other thing to do in Fort Lauderdale.
