South Florida stretches along the Gulf of Mexico with miles of white sandy beaches on the west and along beautiful Atlantic shorelines on the east. Just a few miles inland is the unspoiled nature of the Everglades. Southeast Florida starts in the culture capital of Palm Beach County along into Broward County with their Intercostal Waterway known as “Venice of America”. South of Broward County lines Miami Dade, a center for international business and finances all the way south to Monroe County which is home to the Florida Keys.

Weather in South Florida gives you more than 3,000 hours of sunshine in a year and enjoys a mild tropical weather year around.  The summer months are a bit warmer, with temperatures averages 92 degrees Fahrenheit and are between June and October. The winters are perfect cool and breezy with average temperatures around 75 degrees. Rain showers in South Florida normally occur during the day and are short but intensive. Hurricanes are a threat to the South Florida Region.

South Florida is home to the Seminole Indians which have called the Everglades their home. In Broward County, Lauderdale by the Sea is home to the only living reefs in the Unites States. Miami is the cultural melting pot of South Florida and you can get a glimpse into the old Florida lifestyle along the west coast and Florida Keys. Palm Beach County has the most famous Golf Courses in South Florida, counting over 150 courses. Major universities/ colleges are located throughout South Florida, such as University of Miami (UM) in Miami, Nova South Eastern University (NOVA) in Davie and Florida Atlantic University (FIU) in Boca Raton to only name a few.

South Florida is the center of tourism, finance and the business world. South Florida can be reached by air, land and sea. International Airports in South Florida are located in Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, MiamiKey West and Sarasota. Major Sea Port is Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale and Port of Miami in Miami.  Major interstates are I-95, I-575, the Florida Turnpike, US-1 or A1A along the east coast and I-75 on the west coast.
