The Fort Lauderdale Air Show is Still Going On
Even with all the government cutting the folks at the Fort Lauderdale Air Show 2013 pulled it off this year again. Hands up and thank you for their efforts to keep the show alive even with the difficult situations they face without their fault.
After a five year break in 2012 the air show will continue for a second time this year along the beautiful beach in Fort Lauderdale on A1A. The civilian volunteer airplanes who perform this year will fly in stunning formation and heights including upside down flips, close formation overhead and trailing smokes in the air.
This year’s performers will be civil volunteers such as the Black Diamond Jet Team, Spanish Air Force Patrulla Acrobática Paracaidista del Ejército del Aire, Red Bull Helicopter, P-51 Mustang Demo, Air Hogs Stunt Plane, T-33 Demonstration, GEICO Skytypers, Mike Wiskus/Lucas Oil Pitts, Lucas Oil Parachute Team, Goodyear Blimp.
The Airshow team adds more and more to the list as they sign up and agree to perform.
It’s Not All About the Airshow and the Military Stand Fly’s
This year with no military flyovers and no thunderbirds at the Air Show it will be all about the volunteers performance and to show support for the Fort Lauderdale Airshow 2013. Do to the government cuts after April 01 until September 30, 2013 there will be no military this year, at any airshow through the US. Many in our nation have therefore cancelled their shows but not the Airshow team in Fort Lauderdale.
Sunrise Bridge will be closed between Friday and Monday AM!
Come early in the morning ! Many activities start already at 9am around the Fort Lauderdale Beach walk. Parking later that day can be stressful and turn out not to become a spot at all.
No alcoholic Drinks allowed! There are coolers for the beach allowed but NO alcoholic drinks. Don’t waste your money if you have to drop it away anyway.
Don’t forget the sunscreen! It will be a long day on the beach, and you should not be unprotected on the beach. A 30+ sunscreen is a must and some head protection is advised.
Pack your sunglasses! To get the best view keep your sunglasses handy.
Bring Cash! Many vendors will accept credit cards, but a cash buy turns to be out much faster and without the hassle.
